INFLUENCERS is a short documentary that explores what it means to be an influencer and how trends & creativity become contagious today in music and fashion.

Directed by Paul Rojanathara and Davis Johnson, the film is a Polaroid snapshot of New York influential creatives (advertising, design, fashion and entertainment) who are shaping today’s pop culture.

I totally agree that Jay-Z is definitely an Influencer and I refuse to agree that Kanye is part of this group because of his ego trip. Yeah, I said it.

If you’re one to look at what people are wearing, like every detail to their clothing then this will pop right at you.
Kobi Levi is the creator of these shoes. Apparently, the Shoe-Stuck-In-Gum is common in Brooklyn but now, you’ll have gum on the bottom of your heel foreverrrr. Personally, I wouldn’t wear them, I’m not that risky in that sense. Lady Gaga should take note and call this dude up.

Love the colour palette… this is probably the one of the inspiration photos for why I chose grey (pewter) as my colour scheme for my wedding - sans jaune. The accents are going to be indigo/midnight blueish and fushia/cranberryish.
The dresses look cute, too.

Good thing these were sculptural installations by Blinkart’s Lernert and Sander for Selfridges’ new Shoe Galleries. They took seven of the most mundane of household domestic appliances and comedically refashioned them into divine creations.

“We wanted to turn stock items into startlingly smart footwear. A humorous take on fashion as an ideal escape from the daily grind.”

They are definitely not mundane and no sane person would wear these out in public… well, Lady Gaga would be all over this.

Cosby Show = sweaters… lots and lots of sweaters.
This blog shows the different renderings of the sweater patterns from various episodes worn by, not just the family guy himself, but also the rest of the family.

Limited Edition Art Scarves by Julia and Joanne Ritson

Limited edition silk scarves by Melbourne artist Joanne Ritson.Limited edition silk scarves by Joanne Ritson

We’ve all seen the typical pashmina’s with the ornate prints on them but I can honestly say that I have never seen these types of scarves before.

Julia and Joanne Ritson are Melbourne artists (and sisters!) who have you used their own original paintings and transferred them into these lovely silk scarves. Their scarves are limited edition and are a bit pricey ($320.00 AUD) but free delivery.

You can purchase these babies on Joanne Rison’s website.

If I was getting into fashion design, I would totally get this. A sketchbook slash dictionary slash diary… oh yeah.
The fact that they have templates and info that you would normally have to flip through another reference book. If you’re a fashion design student, go get this.

Young designer Yuliya Kyrpo designed a ballgown of thousands of paper cranes made out of old Metro newspapers.
This is amazing. She really has a craft with a sewing machine or whatever she used to put this together. The dress looks so fluid and seamless like it’s just one fabric. Beautiful.

I’m one of those people who likes to buy a piece of clothing where I don’t have to do anything to fix it unless I get it at some consignment place or thrift store. But then I came across this: The Colour-In Dress, a fantastic new fashion idea by Berber Soepboer (concept and design) and Michiel Schuurman (textile design).
It’s like way back when you had your colouring books and you either the type to just colour whatever and however inside the drawing/page or the type to colour within the lines making sure the direction that you’re colouring is the same and straight (yeah, I was one of those kinds of kids… I wonder what happened). I would colour before I put on the dress; it comes equipped with the colour markers!

This is the M-Dress, designed by the London-based fashion company CuteCircuit will be launched some time this year in Britain and comes with a collection of different ring tones.
This has Inspector Gadget and Get Smart written all over it. Maybe Mission Impossible but Tom Cruise wouldn’t be able to pull this outfit off (you can take whatever meaning you think I’m going for here).

I know it’s not a new collection, Fall 2010 to be exact but how awesome is this collection.
What I didn’t know is that this a Vancouver-based design house, Nixxi, clean silhouettes in organic textures. Love it! Got to go and look for it now.
