Thoughts of Something

Feb 29

Nowadays, it’s not that easy to get that house with a large backyard for your golden retriever and kids to run around while your hubby (or wifey - hey we know how to grill, too) cooks something on the BBQ or just random gardening. This is basically a long shot in Vancouver now that it’s the most expensive city in North America (thanks for that… I don’t mean that as compliment).
Yet, a girl can still dream, as I affix all things house-related in a mood board that will hopefully turned into a reality at some point.
To sum up: I want this bench. This is one of the furnitures in the Hopper Furniture Collection, part of the Extremis Home catalogue by Dirk Wynants. This Belgian designer’s mission is to create “tools of togetherness”… bring value to the product, not just make it pretty.
If value means putting the grill as part of the bench where I don’t have to get up to get more meat, then I’m all for it. That is why I like Shabusen: all-you-can-eat Japanese and Korean foods (mainly sushi and meat, that’s all you need)

Instead of the ordinary way of displaying shoes, check this out.
Ta-da! Functionally beautiful. Smart, smart, smart. Aside from just showing the shoe to the salesperson, you can just tell them the number!
This wall of sneakers/kicks is at Sneakerology and Streetology at Westfield Sydney, Australia brought to by Facet Studio.
I bet kick lovers are drooling right now hoping they can do something similar instead of a plain ol’ walk-in closet for the shoes.

Winter ain’t over yet in Vancouver. It’s a bit chilly still (well, in the single digits above 0) but I’m digging this versatile knitted sweater vest.
IMPROVD Cross Front Knit Cardi, available at Revolve Clothing.

Best name ever: Humperdink
It’s a doorstop, by the way, and doesn’t he look like Frozone from The Incredibles?

What a great redesign concept for movie posters! It uses a recognizable menswear piece in each movie. See the entire collection here.
Love the Anchor Man and Top Gun posters. Too bad the aviators weren’t in the latter. “I feel the need… for speed!”
EveryGuyed presented them and they are designed by Moxy Creative illustrated by James Alexander Mathers and Andrew Lau.

This lovely piece, Ligature, Loop & Stem Poster, is something that I should be on a wall in my future office in my future house. Too bad it’s sold :(
It would be nice to not look up something on the internet (stop SOPA and PIPA, Americans. I can’t believe that these bills went to Senate in the first place) or in a book, just look on the wall and boom! “So that’s what that thingy on that character is called!!!” Gadzook… that’s what it’s called.
This was printed beautifully btw.

Can’t find your cell? No one is there to call your cell? Look no further. If you got internet access, go to www.icantfindmyphone.com.
You can use it if you don’t live in the US, too! Nice touch.
